Coat
For most long haired breeds especially Poodle and Poodle Mixes the best equipment to use is:
☆ A Slicker Brush
☆A Metal Comb
☆A Detangling Spray
Mist the Detangler Spray all over their coat and then start with the slicker brush
using the line brushing method (starting near the bottom and lifting the hair and making your way upwards)making sure to get right to the skin and check over the brushed part with the small side of the comb to be sure there's no little tangles left.
It is recommended to get them professionally groomed every 4-8 weeks.
For most short haired breeds such as Beagles, Bulldogs etc the best equipment to use is
☆A Kong Zoom Groom
Or a
☆A FURminator Curry Comb
Eyes
For those with long hair on their face the easiest way to get rid of the build up in the corner of their eyes is to use a warm wet flannel on the hard crusty parts until they soften. Once they're soft use a flea comb and gently comb away the eye boogers.
Ears
Most dogs ears should be relatively clean anyway.
If they are red, sore, or extremely smelly its best to leave them and consult a vet.
But if they are just a bit waxy its easy to use damp cotton wool to just gently remove the wax, on the outer side- its best to not go into the ear canal as that can cause damage.
Paws
Long haired dogs have a high probability of getting matts betweens their pads and toes. So its always good practice to check for matts, or grass seeds that they may have embedded.
Nails
Ideal nail length is where the nails don't touch the floor when they stand, however quite often dogs do struggle to naturally grind their nails down. They do have a vein in their nails that if caught is uncomfortable for the dog.
